Blunzngröstl with Sauerkraut (Blood Sausage, Potatoes & Sauerkraut)

How to make Blunzngröstl, which is a simple and delicious blood sausage and potato recipe. If you like it a little bit hot you can also grate some fresh horseradish on top of it.

Ingredients

500g Blood Sausage
1,5 kg Potatoes
2 Onions
Butter
Oil
salt, pepper
500g Sauerkraut

Method

  1. Peel and cut potatoes in 1,5 cm thick rings.

  2. Boil potatoes till just fork tender.

  3. Peel and dice onions.

  4. Heat oil with butter in a pan and cook onions till translucent.

  5. Remove onions from the pan and set aside.

  6. Heat oil and butter in the same pan and fry potatoes till crispy on both side.

  7. Remove potatoes from the pan and add to a casserole dish. Keep them warm in the oven for later.

  8. Peel and cut blood sausage in 2 cm thick rings.

  9. Heat oil and butter in a pan and add blood sausage. Cook till crispy.

  10. Add onions and blood sausage to the potatoes and gentle mix together.

  11. Now its ready to enjoy!
